Why did we enable simple telemetry?

We’re always looking for ways to improve Mammoth. We’re making the app faster and easier to use, adding new features, and helping you find cool content to follow. By adding telemetry, we’ll understand how our app is used. And we think this is essential. We do this anonymously to preserve your privacy and only track what we need to know. This will help us improve the app for everyone.

Here is a list of things we don’t track and one of things we do. We’re open-source, so feel free to review our code.

What we do not track

• Your IP address
• Your name and username (or any PII data)
• The posts you’re reading, liking, reposting, and replying to
• The accounts you're looking at

What we do track anonymously

• A hashed version of your username
• The instance you’re on
• App language
• High-level behavior in the app (screen names and key actions)
• The list of subscribed smart lists
• Amount of followers and followings
• The country you’re in
